Evermay’s Future Fellows Program convenes 4–6 extraordinary thinkers, creators, and builders to explore ideas that could shape the world and meet its needs ten years from now—projects with long-term horizons, concepts so advanced they are not yet fully understood, or initiatives whose scale and collaboration require a decade to come to fruition.
Ideas that don’t yet have names
Questions too big for existing institutions
Cross-pollination between disciplines, cultures, and worldviews
Ethical reflection alongside radical imagination
Evermay is not a retreat from the world—it is a launchpad into it.
All fellows will participate in the first three weeks of the residency. After this initial period, residents may extend their stay to six or nine weeks.
Fellows live and work on the Evermay estate, using its historic and natural resources to advance their projects—whether through:
Research
Writing
Media
Other forms of creative exploration
Fellows are selected through an annual open call and internal nominations, with all candidates going through the same application and review process. Two cohorts will be chosen, taking applicants’ preferred residency timing into account.
Applications for the Fall 2026 and
Winter 2027 cohorts are now closed.
We encourage prospective candidates to check back for updates on future cohort opportunities.
