A graduate of Yale’s prestigious Opera Program, Adelaide made her debut on the Metropolitan Opera stage at age 21, under the direction of Marco Armiliato, as a National Finalist in the renowned Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions. There she was noted in the New York Times as “sensitive and affecting.” Since then, soprano Adelaide Muir Trombetta has rapidly gained recognition as a world-class singer and a compelling stage performer. She has performed leading concert and stage roles throughout the United States and Europe.
Her model physique has earned her performances on the catwalk modeling designer gowns at one of Europe’s largest fashion shows, The TaoModa Awards in 2014 and 2023. There, she was awarded one of three prizes for Excellence in Female Creativity and performed in the world-renowned ancient Greek theater in Taormina, Sicily that has hosted the likes of Tony Bennett and Luciano Pavarotti. Her performance, along with the gown designed for her, was featured in countless news outlets in Italy including the Corriere della Sera, the number one news source in Italy.
In 2017 she made her Carnegie Hall debut in Weill Recital Hall and has recently released her solo debut album “Sempre Libera” featuring David Stewart Wiley on piano. In 2021, she recorded with renowned gospel artist Charles Billingsley, “Time to Say Goodbye” for his album “The Shadow of Your Smile,” that was ranked #1 in the jazz billboard charts for weeks. These recordings are available via all digital music platforms.
Adelaide is a regular featured soloist with symphonies across the region with notable appearances in Holiday shows, featuring her warm personality, cross-over vocal abilities, and her hidden talent of tap dancing. She has also been featured in commercials and independent movies, and won Best Supporting Actress from the Liberty University Cinematic Arts department in 2025.
