Awaken Possibility

Evermay’s Mind and Meaning program offers events and experiences designed to explore the connections among personal growth, creativity, and community. Evermay sparks discovery, nurtures well-being, and fosters meaningful connection.

Evermay Yoga

This spring, we are excited to offer a yoga series on Evermay’s picturesque grounds. These sessions are designed to support well-being, mindfulness, and intentionality in Evermay’s unique, welcoming space.

Whether you’re brand new to yoga or a regular practitioner, all are welcome.

Together we’ll experience soft, flowing movement and mindful breathing led by instructor Jordan-Leigh Harrington. Jordan-Leigh has been practicing and teaching yoga for nearly a decade and believes yoga is more than just movement – it’s about community, connection, and the gentle remembrance that we’re never truly alone.

Wednesday, April 8th
6:30-7:30 PM

Additional yoga offerings will be announced soon.

Japanese Tea Ceremony

May 15th, 2026

Long before matcha lattes, there was Chanoyu — The Way of Tea

Slow down for an afternoon of Japanese tea ceremony hosted by third-generation tea student and practitioner, Lisa Yamashita Allen. Steeped in the Omotesenke tradition, Lisa and a team of teachers and practitioners will offer an accessible, relevant and very personal introduction to a 450 year old ritual: Chanoyu — the Way of Tea. Guests will participate in a tea ceremony demonstration, receive a bowl of hand-whisked matcha as well as Japanese sweets, and have time to reflect in the historic gardens of Evermay in Georgetown.

Three sittings: 12pm, 2pm, and 4pm. Each session is separately ticketed and lasts a little over one hour. Seating is in chairs, not on the floor. Open to all; no prior experience necessary.

“Prepare the brazier so that the water can come properly to boil, arrange flowers in a natural way, and enjoy the bowl of tea.”
— Sen no Rikyu, 16th century
